North Coast Region Planning Grant Updates
DWR and the SWRCB administer planning grants which are intended to foster development or completion of IRWM Plans or components thereof, to enhance regional planning efforts, and to assist more applicants to become eligible for Implementation Grant funding http://www.water.ca.gov/irwm/integregio_planning.cfm.
In January 2006, the North Coast received $500,000 in planning grant funds to support Phase II of the NCIRWMP. Integrated Coastal Watershed Management Planning (ICWMP) grants are underway in the following watersheds within the North Coast region: Russian River, Noyo & Big Rivers, Salmon Creek, Mattole River and the Trinidad Area of Special Biological Significance (ASBS), and will integrate with the North Coast IRWMP.
