Project Abstract

The Orick Community Services District (OCSD) will complete the planning, permitting, design and construction of a new wastewater collection, treatment and disposal system in Community of Orick.

Project Goals

Establish a wastewater collection, treatment and disposal system in Orick that will improve water quality, protect human health and the environment, and contribute to a prosperous, sustainable future for the community. 

Objectives

  1. Incorporate sound scientific analysis into all phases of the project.
  2. Utilize partnerships with multiple agencies, organizations and community members to ensure the system meets multiple needs.
  3. Achieve an environmentally-friendly and aesthetic design that will not detract from the natural beauty of the Orick valley and will serve as a source of community pride.
  4. Obtain grant funds to implement the project in order to reduce the financial burden on low-income community members. 
  5. Supplement existing feasibility study to provide analysis of a variety of methods of wastewater treatment.
