NCIRWMP Energy Independence Program: EECBG

         

Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant

The California Energy Commission (CEC) has executed an Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) grant agreement with Humboldt County to implement 50 energy efficiency projects in the North Coast region to decrease fossil fuel emissions, reduce total energy use, and improve energy efficiency. The NCIRWMP EECBG projects include lighting retrofits; heating, ventilation and air conditioning modifications; automated energy systems; and water/wastewater retrofits; furnace replacements; and energy efficient motor/pump replacements.

North Coast EECBG partner communities include:

Cities: Arcata, Blue Lake, Crescent City, Etna, Eureka, Ferndale, Fortuna, Point Arena, Rio Dell, Trinidad

  • NCIRWMP EECBG Grant amount: $972,825
  • Total cost of projects: $ 1,629,952
  • Leveraged funds, incentives and rebates: $ 657,127
  • Average payback: 5.3 years
  • Estimated energy savings: 10,063 MMBtu
  • Estimated carbon offsets: 533.59 tonnes CO2
