Proposition 84, the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006 was passed by the voters on November 7th and will bring significant benefits to the North Coast Region. Most notably, this bond includes $1 billion for the continuation of the Integrated Regional Water Management grant program - $37 million of which is specifically allocated for the North Coast hydrologic region as well as $45 million in funding for coastal salmon and steelhead restoration efforts along with many other funding categories. |
